December is here—and with it, the season of celebration continues. Winter arrives wrapped in a quiet hope, inviting us to capture the reason for the season ~ to celebrate the Gift. Now, is a great time to enjoy foods that bring warmth, color and vitality—dishes that brighten winter days and remind us that nourishment is truly important. From vibrant winter fruit, like pomegranates and varieties of citrus to hearty plant-based comforts like sweet potatoes, butternut squash and beyond. The holidays offer countless opportunities to showcase seasonal foods and enjoy nutrient-rich, delicious plant-forward combinations—and this year is no different.

In fact, it is even more meaningful now to offer nourishment for our body + that uplifts.
Wherever people come together—around a family table, in a workplace, or at a festive event—food usually is the bright thread that brings comfort, celebration, and connection. In the pix above pomegranate arils (seeds) are added to salad, crushed into drinks, eaten as a fruit. Below, are cauliflower and collard greens, cruciferous veggies containing powerful phytonutrients (phytochemicals) which are responsible in part for the distinct color, flavor profile and nutrients they each carry. The journey into eating for our health and well-being is fascinating and fun !!

My hope is that this can be a starting point, inspiring you to try one new dish, one new ingredient, or one new way of nourishing yourself this season. If you are already on your health journey, even better. I’d love to hear the seasonal dishes you are creating in your own kitchen, drop a comment.
