Winter Veggies & Fruit

As we move into January continue to nourish your insides through the winter season with these nutrient rich, winter gems shown above. Not to replace our Winter favorites like Kale, Collards, Brussels Sprouts, Swiss Chard, rutabaga and turnips. This range of hearty foods presents us a full array of seasonal choices.

Along with the produce, consider a hearty pot of dry beans, peas, or lentils as a soup, in a chili, stew or mixed into grains or rice and seasoned to your liking . A leafy green salad is always welcome. With these dishes we are incorporating unrefined coconut oil and extra virgin olive oil.

WINTER FRUIT: A -1 is citrus, including blood oranges, lemons and limes. Pomegranates flourish in winter, plus apples and pears are still available through the winter season for us to enjoy.

Let me know new foods you are transitioning into.

Be well, to your health!
